REAL BOUT FATAL FURY SATAN

Hey everyone, SuperBrayden48 here. I used to be a big fan of the Fatal Fury series. The adventures of Terry Bogard, Joe Higashi, and the third one were always my favorites stop at the old arcade. But now. After what happened to me… it frightens me to even look at Terry Bogard and friends ever again.,. This is my story of how my life was ruined.
It all started on an average day for me. I was on my home from my college, watching episode 166 of Pocoyo "Disco Fleaver" with my headphones in. I was enjoying my show when there was something on my route that was not usually there before. It was a yard sale from the weird old man a few houses over. He was sitting out front in front of a large table. Strangely, there seemed to be only one item and I seemed to be the only customer. The item? A copy of Real Bout Fatal Fury Special on Sega Saturn. I was ecstatic as a big fan of the Fatal Fury series. Terry Bogard was one of my favorite Video Game Heroes of all time. With his iconic red “Fatal Fury” hat and kind of girly but cool ponytail. However, something about this game seemed too good to be true. For starters, it was just the disc, but it had sharpie stains all over it, with a big “X” over where Terry’s face was and the title was vandelized to say “REAL BOUT FATAL FURY SATAN”, and when I asked the old man about the price, before he could speak, my mom and Heatran came up to me from behind, and scared me. “What are you doing out here? Come inside.” my mom said. I was going to say “I was looking at our neighbor’s yard sale,” when as I turned around, there was no old man, there was no table, there was no house, only the disc already in my hand, this time the disc read “PLAY ME” in red sharpie. I was weirded out, but more excited about the free game, and just walked back home with my mom.
Back home, after putting on Barbie: Mariposa for Heatran and doing my homework, I excitedly ran up to my cool retro 1994 Sega Saturn that I got from my best friend EquestriaGirlsYESProblemSolverzNO1994 and slipped in my awesome prize. I excitedly grabbed my controller, ready for the action-packed-fighting-madness I was used to on the arcade. However, this was one of the biggest mistakes of my life.
The game booted up as normal, but something seemed different. The RBS and SNK logos were normal, but when it played the intro of Terry getting beat up by Krauser, it looked like he was getting a lot more bloody than usual. The intro normally had some blood, but there seemed to be just a few pixels more. Terry’s eyes also looked sadder, but I ignored this and just thought that SNK’s masterful spritework was at it again.
It took a long time to load to the select screen, so long that I got bored and took the time to watch more Pocoyo and change Heatran’s food bowl, but when I got back it thankfully had loaded. “Thank goodnes it works, I thought that old man had sold me junk,” I said.
The character select screen seemed different than I remember. It seemed as though half the roster was missing. Of the characters who were still there, Terry, the other one, and Joe looked normal, Mai Shiranui’s portrait looked sad, Billy Kane was looking away from the camera, Ryuji Yamazaki’s face looked like Squidward’s Suicide (Red Mist), Blue Mary looked normal also, and Kim Kaphwan looked almost grey and pale. The rest of the roster was missing, and there was a character I don’t remember always being there: it was a character who looked like a demon who looked like a recolor of Terry, but with an all black and red color scheme,sharp teeth, devil wings and horns, and was called “@!?&”.
I just assumed this was a visual glitch and picked Terry, my go-to character and main, and played the usual arcade mode, expecting nothing unordinary. The first match was against the other guy from Team Fatal Fury who isn’t Joe. The match went as normal, using my Power Waves to lower this guy’s health bar like the good ol’ days. The match concluded as normal with me winning and Terry saying his win-quote. The next match seemed to be against Joe Higashi, but I say seemed as right when the fight was about to start, the mysterious character @!?& from the loading screen jumped into the fight and beat up Joe, like Akuma in Street Fighter II against M. Bison. This scared me so bad I threw up the entire pitcher of Hawaiian Punch I was drinking. Or wqas it.. Blood….!!
The fight was now against this new character, and hes moves were so difficult, with each hit, it felt like Terry didn’t even have a chance to react, no matter how hard I used the combos like I used to. Before I knew it, Terry was knocked out twice, and before I could react to continue, a cutscene played out with the sprites. Terry was tied up by @!?&, he wa stied really tight and had a rope tied rleral tight around his chest an dhis butt was kind olof sticking up and he wa s kin dof moans sda his clothews were a bit torn asnsda anadn hhnnnnnnnnnnngfh.h gh.g.fgh.g.g .

Before I knew it, Terry was knocked out twice, and before I could react to continue, a cutscene played out with the sprites.Terry was captured by @!?&, he said something to him, but whatever it was, it appeared to have glitched out entirely, but whatever it was, Terry’s sprite looked really scared. It was drawn in a very realistic way,, even too detailed for the sprite art this game used. But then, shockingly, @!?& chanted some kind of audio, but it played loud and crackly, so much to the point where my ears bled, but luckily my mom was out walking Heatran so she didn’t hear it. But then, Terry’s sprite started convulsing, and soon, black liquid and blood began pouring out of his eyes and mouth as his sprite started twitching and colvulsing way to realistically for the Sega Saturn.Before it could end, my Sega SAturn started emitting black smoke, so I hurridley reset the game.
I really wish I stopped there, but no. I was too curious. So, after much hesitation, I started the game back up again, and everything was as usual to last time, except instead of the SNK logo, there was split-second text on the screen. Using my memory, it said MINÄ OLEN TERRY JA MINÄ TAPAN SINUT in Finnish, which was really scary. I was sent back to the Character Select menu, and while it was mostly the same, Terry’s sprite looked… off. He had a wide grin, his eyes were in shadow, and there was what looked like. Blood dripping from his hands. I was put-off, but still stuck with Terry anyway. The first fight was against Blue Mary, and while it seemed to start normal, Terry started using moves from @!?&. His moves were all different, but he was just as strong, so I had no issue beating Mary. Just as I beat her, the screen went black, and Mary’s sprite was then replaced by a geyser of blood, with Terry making a very high-pitched crackly noise. I was astounded. Blue Mary was a girlfriend to Terry in the games, why would the developers make him do this to her? I pressed on anyway. The next fight was against Ryuji Yamazaki, and the music playing in the background was the Gigas theme from Earthbound. But, however, there was no fight. As when Terry walked to the stage, Ryuji had killed himself and was hanging from the ceiling, so the fight ended with Terry as the winner.
The penultimate fight, it said, before I could fight Geese Howard, was Billy Kane. His portrait sprite looked scared, even worried. The fight started with a cutcene. Terry roared and made another high pitched noise, but I had already gone deaf so I didnt; hear it. Billy, crying, stood firm and said “For Master Geese, I cannot allow you to get further. Cease or die!” but he said this all in Slovakian so I didn’t understand him. The fight began, and even though it sickened me, I did the fight against Billy, Terry’s moves too much for him as he quickly lost both rounds. At the end of the fight, Billy wa writhing on the ground. His stick was stabbed through his legs, so he was unable to crawl away. And suddenly and scarily, Terry threw up more liquid, and in a bloody and hyperrealistic way, he transformed into a large demon wolf with 15 rows of sharp teeth and blood caked all over his fur, a tail even ripping through his clothes. Using a large demonic tongue, I watched in horror as he picked up and ate Billy whole, making loud bloody crunching sounds all the down, even hearing Billy’s audio muffle as he was being eaten and lots of slimy wet sounds. I was impressed with ther attention to the audio from the developers, but I was also crying as I played. Terry Bogard wouldn’t do all of this. Why did SNK make him into a monster in this game?
It was again, right as I was about to fight Geese, that the Sega Saturn emitted black smoke again. This time, I had had enough, and went to unplug my Sega Saturn, but before I could, an image flashed on my TV. It was the decapitated heads of all the playable characters, even the ones missing from this version, all lined up next to each other: Mai, Joe, Duck King, Krauser, the other guy named Bogard, the Jin Brothers: all of them except Geese Howard. And, to my horror, even the head of my friend EquestriaGirlsYESProblemSolverzNO1994. I cried and vomitted from fear. The screen then went to @!?&, whose name unscrambled to read “FATAL FURY SATAN” as text on screen blared “YOU CAN’T EASCAPE ME SUPERBRAYDEN”. Just then, Fatal Fury Satan began to crawl out of my TV. Scared, I grabbed my Buster Sword, and Heatran, who had come home, was ready to defend me. However, before we could fight, a Bloody Geese Howard, out of nowhere, reached in and grabbed Fatal Fury Satan back into the TV, before my TV and my Sega Saturn exploded in a geyser of blood.
To this day, I still have nightmares about the game and what happened. Especially after going to the funeral of EquestriaGirlsYESProblemSolverzNO1994, we knew this game had and will ruin our lives. As I type this, I am awaiting a reply from SNK. I wrote to them about what this game did to me and my life, cursing out the developers and pleading for answers, but I have yet to receive a reply. But what I do know, is that now, whenever I see Terry Bogard, SNK’s hero, I get a big boner.
ACTUAL AUTHOR'S NOTE: Elements from this were based on elements I've actually seen in certain Creepypastas: random real Pokémon in the story, pulling out a weapon against the haunted game, elaborate usernames, random fetish-y content, etc.
