So-called "free-thinkers" when they say they'll maintain their website but as always when she develops a new hobby she just does anything but when she actually has the free time for it even though she wants to and likes doing so.
Anyways. While I have been neglecting my website... and my MUGEN build... I have taken interest in sewing my own plushies. This is something I was interested in since I was a child: I would buy a lot of how-to-sew-plushies books and fabrics but be too overwhelmed by the instructions to ever follow through. I remember wanting to make Maya Fey from Ace Attorney. I did eventually learn the basics of sewing: at my old local library in my hometown (rest its soul) a friend and I took a little class on how to sew little felt plush toys. I did feel a bit clickbaited as I was under the impression that our final product would resemble the image of the Nendoroid Plush Megurine Luka that they used on the flyers but I was ultimatley happy with getting a little Altoids tin of sewing supplies (which I still have and use) and the little felt doll I made. I think I made that kind bug boy from Danganronpa (rest his soul also. not just because he's dead but because i think he should be in a series with better writing), I don't remember who my friend made, and the kid sitting next to me made Mega Man.
Back to the present. Like my Robbie The Rabbit suit that I was planning for years but finally impusivley got around to doing last year, I decided that with all the characters I liked that lacked official plushies and the possibility that any official plushies of these characters would become mega expensive that I would finally need to take things into my own hands. As of this summer at least, I decided on my characters of choice for the moment: Ingrid in her Pharaoh's Curse form (aka Stupid Ingrid Baby aka FUUUUUCK!! I HATE IT!!!), Morrigan Aensland, Rock Howard, and A.K.I., all favorites of mine with either none or very little accesable plushies and merchandise. I decided to stick to around 10cm teeny-tiny plushies, as I enjoy portability. Like my sweet little plush Terry who I spoil like a purse dog, taking him out into the world and sharing treats with him, I wanna spoil these sweethearts also.
I would now like to shout-out my two personal saviors in regards to this project: Sewing Idol Tacute for plush patterns and sewing tutorials and PiyoPicco for learning embroidery. Tacute's 10cm plush patterns are quite literally the backbone of this project and PiyoPicco's beautiful embroidery skills and tutorials have helped me learn how to embroider facial features.
As of now, I have started and completed 2 of my 4 planned plushies: Ingrid Baby and Morrigan.

Aww... look at em. They don't know their times tables...
I started with presumably the easiest: Ingrid. She was a simple design and there were no additional clothes I needed to cut and sew for her. Most complicated thing with her was likely just gonna be the two golden crests on her head. And she was indeed a quick job! Aside from her hairline not turning out as planned and her ears not being attached in the right spot, everything else about her went pretty well.
Morrigan, meanwhile, came with a lot of hurdles. In order: when first sewing her body and attaching her clothes, I either used too thin a fabric or didn't attach it properly, because by the time I sewed it up and inverted it, it all fell apart. So I just said "fuck it" and did the head first. Then, when making her hair and bangs, I absentmindedly attached fabric backing to it, forgetting it would back the back of her hair visibly white, and had to scrap and re-do those pieces. Then came trying to get both pairs of wings to attach properly, and how during the sewing process, I bent/broke two different needles, one of which was actually one of my embroidery needles that I used absentmindedly, so that sucks. But she's done now and has yet to completely disintrigate in my arms, so I think she's fine for now.

Anyway. As I type this my index finger is sore from continuously accidentally ramming my needle (both sewing and embroidery) into it. That's my drawing finger fuuuck. I might as well use this time as a break from sewing for a bit to try and at least add a little bit more to my website. Maybe stop neglecting my dream diary also. Go do something fun and make things if you can. I recommend it.
